This year's Pittsburgh Chefs Create | Autism Speaks Gala was held at the beautiful Fairmont Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA on November 21, 2019 - 510 Market St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
This blogpost will not be like my typical posts (there is way more reading involved... sorry), but it will still include pictures, so do not worry!
The food at the Gala was prepared by our region’s best Chefs. Each Chef is paired with a child on the autism spectrum and makes a dish that is as unique as each of our children.
Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the life span, for the needs of people with autism and their families. Read for more information about Autism Speaks on their website: https://www.autismspeaks.org/
The night started with a VIP cocktail reception, and a walk down the "blue" carpet!
Then I explored and found some great chef's and better some food...
Each chef was given a child with autism to sponsor for this event. The child told their chef what their favorite foods were. After that, the chef would make a delicious meal or dessert. Some of my personal favorites were the mac and cheeses, spaghettis, and chocolate chip cookies!
... and some AWESOME raffle and auction prizes!
Overall, the Gala was a huge success. I am proud, and lucky to be a part of it!
Pittsburgh Chef Creates | Autism Speaks is a wonderful organization that deserves more recognition than it has now.
I hope they ask me to come back next year.
